Nina Mûr

Sustainable Uniqueness — The Most Innovative Natural Glasses to See What Really Matters

Nina Mûr began in Madrid in 2018, when designer Lorena Serrano set out to build the collection her family's optical business had always wanted: something sustainable, without giving up creativity or design. She'd been drawing glasses since childhood, and the name carries that history forward — "Nina" for her niece, meaning kind, and "Mûr," French for mature, a nod to how far the brand has grown since its early days under her alter-ego, Nina Quiche.

Every pair is made in-house in Madrid from Finnish birch plywood, chosen for being lightweight, flexible, and durable enough to handle temperatures from -3°C to 100°C, sometimes paired with natural stone composites like marble or slate. It's a slow process by design — about 40 hours per frame, from a custom plywood press held over 20 hours to precision CNC cutting to 85-90% hand finishing — built on the idea that eyewear should be an investment piece, not something disposable.
